The event in honor of the sports champions of fair play is part of Menarini’s celebration of its 100th anniversary in Florence
Rome, June 10, 2015: The next event in the celebration of the Menarini Group’s 100 years in Florence will be dedicated to fair play. Athletes and sports personalities recognized for loyalty, ethics and respect in their professional careers will be awarded at the end of the month in Florence and Castiglion Fiorentino (Arezzo).
The names were announced during today’s press conference held in CONI’s Hall of Honour in Rome. Two of the winners are emblems of football fair play in Florence and Tuscany in general: Gabriel Omar Batistuta and Giancarlo Antognoni. But the list of champions is varied and embraces all sorts of sports and areas.
The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, July 1, in the Town Hall Square in Castiglion Fiorentino (Arezzo) and will be broadcasted by Rai Sport.
XIX Menarini Fair Play Award Conference
The event is sponsored by the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Deputies and the Italian Committee for Fair Play.
For the third consecutive year the Menarini Group has chosen unite its name with this event.
"Menarini once again confirms its commitment as title sponsor, and is extremely proud to unite, once again, its name with that of the International Fair Play Award,” said Ennio Troiano, Corporate Director of Human Resources at Menarini. “It is a partnership based on shared values such as fairness, ethics and respect of rules and of the opponent. These values are as important in sport as they are in the workplace and, more generally, in everyday life. Through the Menarini International Fair Play Award, we nurture our dream of contributing to a better future in which the principles and values that fuel this award become more and more common, widespread and practiced in all activities of life, helping to deliver a better world to our children."
