Press Release
Ten more ‘comfortable homes’ renovated by Menarini for ten families hit by the economical crisis.
First ten completed last year.
Menarini will be renovating ten apartments in the city of Florence as part of their renewed commitment to an initiative in support of the Town Council.
Florence, December 12th, 2014 – In the year 2015 Menarini will renew its commitment to support the call for social housing in the city of Florence, by renovating, at their own expense, a further 10 apartments belonging to the town council and taking care of the work involved.
As early Spring 2015, "10 apartments" will be fully renovated and ready to be handed over to families who have lost their homes as a consequence of not being able to pay their rent due to economic difficulties brought on by the crisis.
For the second consecutive year, and in a period in which social housing represents a significant concern for Florence and other major cities in Italy, Menarini has chosen to confirm its commitment to the City of Florence with an undertaking of deep symbolic value. The project, which will be carried out in collaboration with Casa S.P.A. (the organisation which takes care of matters pertaining to public housing in the Florentine area), foresees the restoration of the electrical, mechanical and thermo-sanitary systems, the replacing of the tiles in the kitchens and bathrooms, the repair or replacement of windows in 10 apartments located in the city’s 2, 3 and 5 districts. The families who will be receiving the keys to these homes are needy families who have already registered in the town council’s waiting lists.
The Mayor of Florence, Dario Nardella, the Town counsellor for Social Housing, Sara Funaro, Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Menarini Pharmaceutical group, Lucia Aleotti and Alberto Giovanni Aleotti, along with the President of Casa Spa, Luca Talluri, illustrated the project during a press conference held this morning in Florence’s Town Hall (Palazzo Vecchio).
