Berlin-Adlershof, 15th October 2024 – Berlin-Chemie and 1. FC Union Berlin are delighted to announce their new partnership. From the 2024/25 season onwards, the Adlershof-based pharmaceutical company will be supporting the traditional Bundesliga club as an "Irons' Sponsor". This sponsorship offers a unique opportunity for Berlin-Chemie to substantially increase its own brand awareness regionally. Through the targeted use of 1. FC Union Berlin's platforms, Berlin-Chemie can not only demonstrate its connection with the Köpenick club and the region but also directly address millions of fans and visitors to the stadium. With careers advertising via the club's channels, Berlin-Chemie will in future create visibility for its attractive job opportunities in the scientific, commercial, technical and IT fields. The sponsorship will in this way make a significant contribution to strengthening the regional presence and perception of the Berlin-Chemie brand and at the same time supports the economic upturn locally.
"We're very pleased to have 1. FC Union Berlin alongside us as a reliable partner who shares our values and attaches equal relevance to the potential of the location," says Dr. Christian Matschke, Member of the Executive Board at Berlin-Chemie. This collaboration is not just an opportunity to give a voice to our passion for sport for a healthy life but also to express our strength as a local employer. In the future as well, we'll be looking to exploit the knowhow of people on site to drive the innovative approach at the company."
Christian Arbeit, Communications Director of 1. FC Union Berlin, comments on the partnership as follows: "With Berlin-Chemie, we've gained a strong ally at our side that's also firmly rooted in the region and has close ties with the people here. We have in common the pursuit of success, which is why we look forward to combining our strengths in this collaboration and further fostering the positive development of the region."
As part of the sponsorship, both partners have also agreed to develop joint social projects together with the Bundesliga club's Learning Centre. The project partners are united by the goal of promoting the personal and professional development of participants in the areas of civic education, media skills and career guidance. In this way, both sides are making an important contribution to cross-generational exchange and networking in the borough.
Berlin-Chemie and 1. FC Union Berlin have been based in Berlin-Köpenick for over a century. From the very beginning, the two institutions have been linked not only by their location but also by a similar set of basic values characterised by humanity, solidarity, cooperation and integrity. The partnership is an expression of the endeavour to make a sustainable difference for people in the region and beyond with concentrated energy.
