Pomezia (Rome): The Menarini Research campus opens its doors to the students of the University of Florence for the "University Center Formation Project" financed by the Region of Tuscany.
The students were able to access the laboratories and witness themselves researchers at work with their instruments, procedures and work methods.
In Menarini Biotech’s auditorium, Dr. Manzini, Director of Pre-clinical Research at Menarini, together with his fellow researchers, welcomed teachers and students from the Pharmacy Faculty of the University of Florence specializing in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technology (CPT) and in Quality Control of the Pharmaceutical Industrial Sector.
"Today these students had a truly important occasion: the on-field experience of the various discovery phases of a new drug (chemical, pharmacological, pharmacokinetic). They also saw how these different areas are applied in the development of biotechnological drugs. Initiatives such as this have the double advantage of bringing students closer to the world of work and of learning about the approach to research from an industrial perspective," commented Prof. Maria Novella Romanelli, President of CPT Specialization and Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Toxicology, Prof. Paola Gratteri, Professor of Drug and Molecular Model Analyses, and Prof. Silvia Selleri, Professor of Technology and Manufacturing Plants of the Pharmaceutical Industry and of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Complements.
