MENARINI von HEYDEN IN DRESDEN: 10th ANNIVERSARY OF A STRATEGIC PLANT OF MENARINI GROUP
To mark the 10th anniversary of Menarini von Heyden in the Menarini Group a celebration for employees and management of the Dresden plant will be held in the city of Dresden on 28th May next.
On May 2006 Menarini Group acquired the PLIVA/AWD’s Dresden Plant to integrate it in its manufacturing network and be able to cover the increasing requests of the global markets. The site was named Menarini von Heyden , in honour of Friedrich von Heyden.
The Menarini Group had committed to keep at least 249 employees and defined an investment strategy to get the highest quality standards, increase the production capacity and provide the plant with new modern and efficient equipment. An investment plant worth more than 50 million euro has achieved all the targets and increased the production capacity of bulk department from 700 to 2400 tons/year and the packaging capacity from 110 to 290 million blisters/year.
Menarini von Heyden, now one of the 14 manufacturing sites of the Menarini Group (based also in Berlin, in Italy, Spain, Russia, Turkey, Ireland, Central America, Indonesia), is now employing more than 350 people and will manufacture this year 2.000 tons of bulk product and 240 million of blisters.
“We are delighted to mark this anniversary with all employees of Dresden that are growing in number with the success of our presence in the Saxon Region” has said Mr. Juergen Langer, Plant Manager at Menarini von Heyden. “The Dresden plant has an annual production capacity of more than 2.400 tons of tablets and 290 million blisters and employees more than 350 in the staff. Products manufactured and packed by Menarini von Heyden are increasing thanks to investments of our Headquarters based in Florence, the Eastern European Markets represent our core business area, and we are going to develop every day more efficiency and competitiveness”.
