Respiratory tract disorders and pulmonary disease

The respiratory tract and lungs can be affected by a number of diseases and disorders which are amongst the most common causes of death worldwide after heart attacks and stroke1.

Respiratory tract disorders and pulmonary disease include infections, caused in most cases by viruses, bacteria or moulds, which frequently affect the upper respiratory tract.

Allergens such as pollen or mould spores can also cause respiratory tract allergies.

They also include chronic conditions that mainly affect the lungs. These include, for example, bronchial asthma and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) which affects millions of people worldwide. Both can be sources of increasing distress for those affected, which is what drives BERLIN-CHEMIE AG to supply medication for people with respiratory tract disorders and lung conditions such as asthma, COPD and respiratory tract allergies.
