16th October 2018 – Florence Italy. Opera, ballet, classical music and more. After the success of last year’s project, Florence-based Pharmaceutical Group Menarini, has chosen to continue its sponsorship of one of the prestigious cultural institutions in Florence: the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.

This year, Menarini has purchased 1,250 tickets to the Maggio Musicale which will be offered to people in economic difficulty as well as the associations that the Group has always supported such as the Volpi Rossi Menarini wheelchair-basketball team, the Astrolabio association for the PITA project (for children and adolescents affected by autism or multiple disabilities), the Tommasino Bacciotti Foundation and the families living in the 40 public housing units renovated by the company.

The project aimed at encouraging adolescents and young people shall also continue and the children of Menarini employees between the ages of 14 to 21 will also have the opportunity to spend an evening at the theatre in the company of a friend.

“Having Menarini as one of our private members - commented Cristiano Chiarot, Superintendent of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino - means we can expect a different level of involvement compared to traditional sponsors. In becoming a partner of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Menarini has started a social project offering a great number of people the opportunity to discover and enjoy the pleasure of classical music, culture and the theatre. We hope that what is becoming an important and satisfying tradition, which we welcome with great enthusiasm, shall be repeated in years to come so that theatre-going can be an activity which everyone can enjoy.”

This year Menarini has decided to continue supporting one of Florence’s most well-known examples of excellence, appreciated on a worldwide level” - declared Valeria Speroni Cardi, Director of Corporate Press & Media Relations Menarini Group. “The Maggio Musicale and it’s Festival is amongst one of the most celebrated in Europe and which, over the last few decades, has attracted Internationally renowned composers and musicians. Through this project, Menarini is able to give hundreds of people the chance to enjoy an evening at the theatre for the very first time.”
